Catalogue of MCA Exhibition Recorders Rafael Lozano-Hemmer. Recorders is a major exhibition of interactive artworks by Mexican-Canadian artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer including the world premier of three new artworks. In Recorders the public are an integral part of the artwork. All of the works have memory and people leave traces of themselves, whether it is objects from their pocket, questions they have typed, the pace of their heartbeat, their voice or their image. In all cases the artwork compiles a database of behaviours that then become the artwork itself. Without public participation the artwork would not exist. Lozano-Hemmer incourages interaction on a personal and communal level that promotes a new form of exchange and collaborative production with the public. Catalogue 62 pages full colour illustration , artist's foreword and interviews.
