Tote Bag | Damien Marks
Set in the dry season on Damien’s Country at Mount Liebig, this work reflects stories from his great-grandparents. Women and children gather bush potatoes (red forms at the base) as they prepare for inma. A lone wati with his waru carries out cool burns, clearing spinifex so new fruits can grow. Sun-like motifs mark women’s body-painting. A red-and-white dry creek threads cracked earth and claypans, past dried rockholes (tjukula) and sweeping sandhills (tali).
These cotton bags fold up to a convenient neat size, fitting into your handbag or glove box making eco friendly plastic bag free shopping that much easier.
