Ikuntji Fabric | Yultukunpa by Loretta Penahall | linen | 1.5m

In this design Loretta Penahall depicts Yultukunpa, honey grevillea which is locally called bush lolly. It flowers soon after the rain in the sandhills and has a very sweet taste. The painting refers to the artist's mother's Dreaming west of Kintore.

Loretta is the grand-daughter of Linda Nginkitjanka, one of Ikuntji Artists founding members. She grew up between Haasts Bluff and Areyonga. She is married to Frankie Marshall, the brother of Ikuntji Artists Daphne Marks.  Loretta's works depict the landscape around Ikuntji (Haasts Bluff) and Utju (Areyonga) as well as her grandmother's Tjukurrpa - honey grevillea.
