About the artist:
Hiromi Tango is a Japanese-Australian artist based in Tweed Heads. Drawing on her experience as a migrant, Tango's work  is shaped by transcultural dialogue, often referencing traditional Japanese art-making methods and artforms. Her contemporary art practice encompasses small sculpture, performance, community engagement, immersive installations, and public art. She transforms everyday materials into works that embody healing and human connection.  Hiromi’s work has been featured in museums and galleries throughout Australia and internationally, and  is held in major collections around the world. She collaborates with communities and scientists, positioning sculpture as a site for social mending and wellbeing.
