Cushion Cover | Yirrikipayi by Karina Coombes
Yirrikipayi (Crocodile) is a Tiwi term for salt-water crocodile, the largest living reptile and fiercest predator in the world. The 'Yirrikipayi' holds great cultural significance for the Tiwi people. Karina made detailed repetition of the triangle which illustrates the pattern of the saltwater crocodile's skin and its awe inspiring teeth.
