Christopher Plumridge is the Australian artist behind Claystone Pottery in Highett, Victoria. His work is highly regarded for its precision, studied form and exquisite use of glazes. The Fast + cups were inspired by fast movement, the shape is at an angle so appears to be moving in a direction. Where ever the handle is positioned around the vessel can make it appear as if it is moving forward or backwards.

Studying under Chinese, Japanese, English and Australian potters his outstanding work with glazes is the result of long term development of formulae he originally began testing as a student in the 1970's, then refined through decades of practise. This extensive development ensures that the colour, texture and depth remain completely unique.

These pieces are some of the last individually made industrial quality, commercial ceramic wares to be created in Australia.
