Primavera 2026 Young Australian Artists | MCA

How are artists engaging with history, memory and the archive today? Primavera 2026: Young Australian Artists presents the work of eight artists preoccupied by the material and psychic traces of the past. 

Primavera is MCA Australia’s annual exhibition for Australian artists aged 35 years and under. Since 1992, it has become an important milestone for over three generations of artists who have established themselves as some of Australia’s most significant artists. 

This year’s artists are Mark Maurangi Carrol, Callum McGrath, Jahkarli Felicitas Romanis, Linda Sok, Jack Wansbrough, Rudi Williams and artist duo Stanton Cornish-Ward and Trent Crawford.  

Introduced and featuring mini-essays by MCA Australia curator Antares Wells, this publication offers deeper insight into each artist’s works across photography, film, sculpture, textiles, installation and painting. It also reveals the objects or ‘sparks’ that have set the artists down their idiosyncratic paths of making.
