Cushion Cover | Kuntjanu Wanampi Tjukurrpa by Rama Sampson

Sale price$75.00 AUD

This stunning cushion cover is entirely handmade and is a piece of functional art for your space. An artwork by Rama Kaltu-Kaltu Sampson has been intricately hand chainstitched onto the cushion using hand dyed wool. Rama Kaltu-Kaltu Sampson was born in 1936 in Mt. Davies, Pipalyatjara, in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands of SA. He is an accomplished painter and traditional ngangkari - doctor and spiritual healer. His strong knowledge of tjukurpa (dreaming) has earned him much respect and his work has been exhibited extensively across Australia. As an Anangu elder, Rama has a great wealth of traditional knowledge and skills. Rama's country is Kuntjanu, and he is a custodian of the Wanampi Tjukurpa - the Rainbow Serpent Dreaming.

Local label Better World Arts work with Aboriginal artists from remote communities across Australia, from Arnhem Land to Central and the Western Desert regions, to create beautiful, functional artworks for the home.
