Planter pot | porcelain | Unfolded chatterbox by Hayden Youlley | large
A new range stunning planters from one our favourite Sydney makers, Hayden Youlley. Each chatterbox planter is finely slip cast from Imperial porcelain and adorned with a delightfully tactile texture - created by embedding a creased paper form onto the outside surface of the pot. This creasing creates a complex pattern of light, shade and texture that disrupts the smooth surface - mimicking crushed paper and inviting the viewer to reach out and touch. Referencing the paper chatterbox toys of our childhoods, Youlley hopes these items evoke treasured memories of play with family and friends.
Hayden Youlley creates his ceramic pieces from start to finish in his studio in Sydney's Marrickville. He strives for the highest possible quality, craftsmanship, functionality and attention to detail. Youlley is inspired by discovering the artistic value in things most people disregard or overlook - the beauty in a speckled egg, or a piece of crumpled paper.
