T-Shirt Dress | Sally M Nangala Mulda | Tangentyere Artists | Assorted Sizes
This boatneck t-shirt dress features the work of Sally M Nangala Mulda of Tangentyere Artists. Made in a limited edition of 100 and exclusively launched at the MCA Store Sydney - don’t miss your chance to own this piece of the wearable art.
Sally M Nangala Mulda creates work that powerfully evokes the lifeways, passions and struggles of life in Abbots Town Camp, located in Mparntwe (Alice Springs). Often using a bright colour palette and deliberate paint strokes, through her distinctive figurative motifs and lyrical cursive text Sally powerfully communicates the 'on the ground' reality of life for contemporary Indigenous populations.
Sally was born in 1957, just south of Mparntwe in Tijikala. After facing the challenges of limited eyesight and losing the use of her left arm, she found her way to this wonderful artistic expression when she joined the Art Centre Tangentyere Artists in 2008. She has since been a finalist in the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards and is part of collections nationally and internationally.
Tangentyere Artists operates as a not-for-profit art hub across the Town Camps Aboriginal housing associations in Alice Springs. With a culturally appropriate studio, gallery space, and outreach program, they offer artists an open environment to participate in ethical, sustainable, contemporary Aboriginal art activities.
