Tote bag | Tiger Yaltangki | Iwantja Arts | black
This durable canvas tote bag features the work of artist Tiger Yaltangki of Iwantja Arts, an Indigenous owned and governed Aboriginal art centre located in the remote Indulkana Community on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands of South Australia.
Tiger Yaltangki is an Anangu artist, born in 1973 in the remote community of Ernabella, South Australia. He is largely non-verbal, and so his artistic practice represents his primary form of self-expression. A compulsive drawer and mark-maker, Tiger works every day at Iwantja Arts. As seen in this design, Tiger's bold and bright artworks often include depictions of spiritual beings or mamu - startling and wild eyed faces rendered in broad brushstrokes, distinctive patternation and contrasting colours.
